For my birthday in January, I was surprised with a whole adventure planned out for me, step by step. The first stop on this adventure was Bruges, a beautifully picturesque city (though it’s really not big!) in Belgium. I spent my birthday in Disneyland Paris , but as we drove there we decided to spend an afternoon across the French border in Belgium. We’d gotten a ferry from Dover to Calais then driven up to Bruges, which is less than an hour and a half drive.
We only had one afternoon in Bruges but that was enough to have a wander around the incredible buildings and try some proper Belgian waffles. There were two things I’d been told to try in Bruges – waffles and beer. As we were driving on to Paris afterwards we had to pass on the beer, so had the waffles instead! I took a LOT of photos as it was all just so picturesque and gorgeous, but here are the ones that made the cut. You have to admit, the waffles look delicious!

I’m kind of taken aback at how much more this city resembles Amsterdam compared to Antwerp! The food still looks insane though!

It really was beautiful! I’m not sure, as we were only there for the afternoon so didn’t even have a meal there! The only thing we bought was the waffles, which were quite expensive but I think that was just due to the location and it being a touristy hot spot! Thanks for reading xx
