Who Am I?

Hi! I’m Charlotte. I’m 24 years old and I live in Bristol, UK, but I’m usually somewhere else in the country/world! I’m originally from Cornwall and still do work down there, so you can often find me there by the sea.

I moved to Bristol in 2013 to study a degree in Marketing at UWE, and really fell in love with the city. By the time I finished in 2016 though I was unsure of whether I wanted to stay, so moved to London and did a 2 month internship at a Luxury Concierge company. This was a lot of fun, but London was expensive (especially when you’re only getting paid expenses!) so I moved back to Cornwall to enjoy the rest of the summer at home when it was finished. I was back in Cornwall for a couple months before getting bored and deciding to move back to Bristol (again). I then did the same thing the next summer, and after having what I think was my last summer in Cornwall, I moved back here (again), and here I am now!

As you can probably tell, I’m not very good at staying in the same place for a long period of time as I have a tendency to get bored/feel like I need a new adventure. Even though I now live here full time, I’m often not in the city for over a couple of weeks at a time as I love to get away for the weekend and travel as much as possible, which is why I decided to start this blog.

I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I started to feel like I should be writing about all the amazing places I’ve been lucky enough to visit. I’ve also always loved taking photos, and I quite often find myself with so many photos and nowhere to put them. So writing about my adventures to go alongside these photos is something I’m really enjoying doing. It’s also nice to be able to look back at things I’ve done, as my memory isn’t great and I quite often forget names of places but have the pictures, so it’s nice to be able to document it all!

I was working at a PR company for a brief time when I moved back to Bristol, and we focused a lot in influencer marketing, meaning I spent a lot of time researching and reading through different blogs. I’ve started a blog numerous times over the years but never seen it through, but after reading through so many I decided actually this was something I really wanted to put my time and effort in to. It was more about getting the confidence to do it and stop letting the thought of what people may think about my writing stop me. Reading through others I thought, you know what I think I could actually be OK at this!

I now work freelance, so I have more time to sit down and write at my desk. Working from home means I can be much more creative than I found I was in an office, so it’s something I think really works for me. It also allows me to travel as much as I can and work remotely, which is what I’ve always wanted!

A little bit more…

In my spare time if I’m not exploring somewhere with my camera, you can find me usually watching dog videos on my phone. I’m a bit obsessed with dogs, I’ve got a crazy labradoodle called Beau back in Cornwall and she has her own Instagram account.. This year for my birthday my boyfriend bought me an African Pygmy Hedgehog who we named Henlo – I really like animals so this was probably one of the best presents ever!
I love cooking, so I like to spend time doing this, though I also go out for food more than I probably should. I’m currently learning guitar though it’s got off to a very slow start, so we’ll see how long that lasts. And I like making origami. I like getting out the house and going for drinks, especially in the summer when it’s beer garden weather. I also love festivals, and have gone to one pretty much every weekend of the last few summers, as I love music and seeing artists I love perform live. I also really like the whole vibe and outfit planning etc (I own a LOT of sequin clothing). Being from Cornwall people assume I can surf – I’ve tried and I just can’t. I do love swimming though, and diving off things. Theme parks are my favourite days out, I will go on every single ride no matter how big. I am however scared of flying, which is getting worse as I get older (and travel more.. strange?). So if anyone has any tips on how to get over this, they would be much appreciated! Oh, and I LOVE chicken nuggets.
